Myopia

"Nearsightedness"

People with myopia can comfortably read and focus on near objects, but find that objects at greater distances are blurry.  Problems with distance vision most often occur because the shape of the eyeball is too long.  Therefore, images focus in front of, rather than right on the surface of the retina.  This condition can be corrected with glasses, contact lenses and certain laser vision correction procedures.
